Terms & Conditions
These terms govern your use of Webteic.com, Webteic downloads, documentation and other services made available through this website.
1. Website operator
Webteic.com is intended to be operated by Webteic Limited, an Irish company currently in the process of incorporation. The company number will be added to this page once issued by the Companies Registration Office.
Business address: Comworks, Station Road, Loughrea, Co. Galway, Ireland, H62 VN56
Email: info@webteic.com
In these Terms, “Webteic”, “we”, “us” and “our” refer to the operator identified above. “You” means any person or organisation accessing or using this website or downloading Webteic software.
2. Use of this website
You may use Webteic.com for lawful purposes, including learning about Webteic, viewing documentation and demonstrations, downloading software and contacting us.
You must not misuse the website, attempt to gain unauthorised access to systems or accounts, interfere with the operation or security of the website, introduce malicious code, scrape or overload the service in a manner that causes disruption, or use the website in violation of applicable law or the rights of others.
We may restrict or block access where reasonably necessary to protect the website, our systems, our users or third parties, or to comply with legal obligations.
3. Webteic software and open-source licence
Webteic is open-source software. Unless a particular file, package or component states otherwise, Webteic source code released by us is made available under the MIT Licence. Your rights to use, copy, modify, merge, publish, distribute, sublicense or sell copies of that code are governed by the MIT Licence supplied with the software.
Third-party libraries, fonts, plugins, assets or other dependencies included with, referenced by or used alongside Webteic may be subject to their own licence terms. Those third-party licences continue to apply independently.
The open-source software licence applies to the software code covered by that licence. It does not, unless expressly stated, grant rights in the Webteic name, logo, trademarks, website content, screenshots, documentation, commercial artwork or other branding materials.
4. Downloads, releases and updates
We may make stable releases, development releases, patches or other downloads available through Webteic.com or linked repositories. Release status and compatibility information will be stated where reasonably possible.
You are responsible for assessing whether a release is suitable for your environment, maintaining appropriate backups and testing changes before deploying them to a production website. You are also responsible for the hosting environment, server configuration, third-party integrations and content used with your own Webteic installation.
We may modify, replace, discontinue or remove a release or download where reasonably necessary, including for security, maintenance, compatibility or legal reasons. Open-source versions already lawfully obtained remain subject to the licence under which they were released.
5. Demo sites and documentation
Demo environments are provided for evaluation and may be reset, modified, restricted or taken offline without notice. Do not enter confidential, sensitive or production data into a public demonstration environment.
Documentation, examples and technical material are provided to assist with use of Webteic. We aim to keep them accurate, but software changes and differences between hosting environments can mean that examples do not apply exactly to every installation.
6. Accounts, contributions and acceptable use
If Webteic.com provides accounts, comments, issue reporting, community areas or other contribution features, you are responsible for the information and content you submit and for maintaining the security of your account credentials.
You must not submit unlawful, infringing, fraudulent, abusive, malicious or deliberately misleading material, or content that violates another person’s privacy, intellectual property or other legal rights. We may remove content or restrict access where reasonably necessary to enforce these Terms, respond to a valid legal request or protect users and systems.
You retain ownership of content you submit. Where publication or processing of that content is necessary to provide the feature you requested, you grant us the limited rights reasonably required to host, display, reproduce and process that content for that purpose.
7. Third-party services and links
Webteic.com may link to or integrate with third-party websites, repositories, hosting providers, payment providers, mapping services, email services or other external services. Those services are operated independently and may have their own terms, privacy notices and licence conditions.
We are not responsible for third-party services merely because we link to them or make it technically possible for Webteic to connect to them. Your use of a third-party service is governed by your relationship with that provider.
8. Intellectual property and trademarks
Except for software and other materials expressly released under an open-source or other public licence, the content of Webteic.com is protected by applicable intellectual property law.
“Webteic”, the Webteic logo and associated branding may not be used in a way that falsely suggests endorsement, partnership, certification or ownership by another person or organisation. Fair descriptive references to Webteic and uses permitted by applicable law are not restricted by this section.
9. Paid services, support and consumer rights
The open-source Webteic software may be downloaded without purchasing commercial services. If we offer paid support, implementation, hosting, extensions or other commercial services, the price, scope, payment terms, renewal terms and any additional conditions will be provided before you place an order and may also be governed by a separate quotation, order form or service agreement.
Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits any mandatory rights that you have under Irish or EU consumer law. Where a statutory right of cancellation, conformity remedy, refund or other consumer protection applies, that statutory right takes priority over any inconsistent provision in these Terms.
If digital content or a digital service is supplied to a consumer before the end of a statutory withdrawal period, any consent or acknowledgement required by law will be obtained as part of the relevant purchase process.
10. Availability and disclaimers
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Webteic.com, demonstration environments, documentation and open-source software are provided without a guarantee that they will be uninterrupted, error-free or suitable for every particular purpose or hosting environment.
Open-source software is supplied subject to the warranty disclaimer contained in its applicable open-source licence. You remain responsible for testing, configuration, backups, security hardening, legal compliance and the operation of websites that you build or manage with Webteic.
Nothing in this section affects warranties, remedies or other rights that cannot lawfully be excluded.
11. Limitation of liability
Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability where doing so would be unlawful, including liability that cannot be excluded under applicable consumer law.
Subject to that restriction, we will not be responsible for losses that are not reasonably foreseeable, losses caused by matters outside our reasonable control, or losses resulting from your own hosting environment, configuration, third-party services, modifications, failure to maintain backups or failure to apply appropriate security and maintenance practices.
If you use Webteic in the course of a business, you are responsible for evaluating the software and services for your business requirements and for maintaining appropriate business continuity, security and backup arrangements.
12. Changes to the website and these Terms
We may update Webteic.com and these Terms from time to time. The current version will be published on this page with its last-updated date. Material changes affecting an account or paid service may also be communicated through the service or by email where appropriate.
Changes to these website Terms do not retrospectively alter the open-source licence that applied to a copy of Webteic software when that copy was released.
13. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of Ireland. The courts of Ireland will have jurisdiction, subject to any mandatory rights a consumer may have to bring proceedings in another jurisdiction or to rely on the mandatory consumer protections of the country in which they reside.
If any provision of these Terms is found to be invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions will continue to apply.
